Discernment Counseling
Discernment counseling is a short-term process for couples where one partner is leaning toward divorce and the other wants to save the marriage. It helps you both get clarity and confidence about the direction to take before you make a decision you can't undo.
1
Is this right for you?
-
One of you is unsure whether to stay in the marriage.
-
Trust has been broken by an affair, pornography, or secrets.
-
Traditional couples therapy hasn't helped, or one partner won't commit to it.

How it works
Discernment counseling usually runs 1-6 sessions. You meet together and separately with Shelia. At the end, you choose one of three paths: keep the marriage as it is, move toward separation, or commit to a season of serious work on the relationship.

Why it helps
With years of marriage and clinical insight, Shelia is dedicated to helping couples build joyful, lasting relationships. Even when a marriage ends, discernment counseling helps both individuals understand what happened.
